Main break at Lackland causes sewer spill

San Antonio Water System is responding to a sewer spill on the 100 block of Hall Street at JBSA Lackland. The spill was caused by a 12” sewer main break.

The volume of the spill has exceeded the requirement for public notice at this location. Crews will work through the weekend to clean up the area and repair the main. See TCEQ notice for more details. No adverse effects are expected, but SAWS will continue to monitor the area.

Areas prone to sewer overflows are the focus of projects replacing and upgrading capacity of sewer lines.
