Project Lead Water Line Inspection Sign-Up

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) requires all water systems to locate and inventory any and all water service lines including those made of lead, on both the private and public side of the water distribution system in accordance with federal law and its revisions.

To fulfill that requirement, San Antonio Water System (SAWS) wishes to inspect the private side of the water service line that conveys potable water between the water meter and interior plumbing of the Property to determine the service line material and whether the Owner’s water service line is a lead service line as defined by the EPA (“Inspection Work”).

By completing this form, the property owner authorizes SAWS and its contractors, subcontractors and consultants to enter the Property to inspect the service line material as described below and determine whether Owner’s water service line is a lead service line.

Right of Entry
SAWS and its contractors, subcontractors and consultants shall have right to enter upon the Property to perform the Inspection Work by observing the service line material through crawl space inspection, meter box inspection, and/or digging a small hole (potholing). SAWS contractors will be required to reasonably restore any disturbed areas by backfilling with the appropriate material and restoring the original surface.

The undersigned further acknowledges that this right of entry is only to determine whether Owner's water service line, which is the property of Owner, is a lead service line, and does not obligate SAWS to replace any water service lines.

The undersigned is hereby the ascertained Owner of the Property and hereby waives, releases and discharges SAWS and its contractors, subcontractors and consultants from all present or future claims, causes of action, or demands that undersigned has or may hereafter accrue on account of any and all known and unknown, or seen and unforeseen bodily and personal injuries or property damage and the consequences thereof resulting, or which may result, from the Inspection Work to be performed at the Property.
