WaterSaver Lane Showcases Beauty of Low-Water-Use Landscapes

watersaver lane landscapes

WaterSaver Lane was created to celebrate the work of the EPA-sponsored Lawns and Environment Committee, which produced new guidelines for an environmentally-responsible natural landscape. The exhibit also shows the versatility of a low-water-use landscape in San Antonio.  You can also compare your favorite themed low-water-use example to a regular St. Augustine-dominated landscape.

All the plants are identified in the display and other signage. Handouts provide additional information on how to model your own low-water-use landscape after the exhibits.

Partners on the project include San Antonio Parks and Recreation, the San Antonio Botanical Society, Texas Turfgrowers Producers, Garden-Ville, Garden Volunteers of South Texas and several area nurseries.

The San Antonio Botanical Garden is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., seven days a week.

The San Antonio Botanical Garden is highly suitable for use by people of all ages and abilities and is wheelchair accessible.
